1. Overview

Foreigners who entered Korea with a short-term visa status — C-1 (Temporary News Coverage), C-3 (Short-term Visit), or C-4 (Short-term Employment) — and were granted a stay of less than 90 days may apply for an extension of stay within 90 days from their entry date.

• Applications can be submitted online (electronic civil petition) or by reservation and visit to the Immigration Office or its branch.
• If the applicant’s passport is not a Machine Readable Passport (MRP), the application cannot be processed online and must be made through a reservation and in-person visit.
• In case of system errors during online application, contact the Immigration Contact Center (dial 1345). If errors occur on the last day of eligibility, applicants must visit the Immigration Office in person.

단기체류자 체류기간연장허가

• 일시취재(C-1), 단기방문(C-3), 단기취업(C-4)의 체류자격으로 90일 미만의 체류기간을 부여받고 입국한 외국인이 입국일로부터 90일 이내의 체류기간 연장허가를 신청하는 민원입니다.
• 동 민원은 전자민원이나 출입국·외국인관서 또는 출장소 방문 예약이 가능한 민원입니다.
• 다만, 기계판독식여권(Machine Readable Passport)이 아닌 여권을 소지한 경우에는 전자민원으로 처리가 불가하므로 사전예약만 가능합니다.
• 전자민원으로 체류기간 연장허가 신청시 시스템 장애 또는 신청이 되지 않는 등 사유가 발생하는 경우 : 외국인종합안내센터(국번없이 1345)로 동 내용을 알려주시기 바랍니다. 단, 전자민원으로 신청가능한 체류기간 만료 1일전(토, 일, 공휴일제외) 해당일에 신청중 심각한 시스템 장애 등 사유로 신청이 불가 할때는 반드시 관할 출입국·외국인관서 또는 출장소를 방문하여 신청을 하시기 바랍니다.
